& Your Letters.

Letter to all our readers from the K-R Editor and Staff Writers.
Every January 1st, we make New Years resolutions and begin to forget about
them by January 10th. All the good will of the holidays we experienced and
gave have subsided by the second week of January. Why? Is it human nature to
make promises that we cannot keep?
Some people will tell you up front, I don’t make New Years resolutions
because I never keep them.
Maybe we have become creatures of habit. Could it be that we are so use to
saying things to others that we really don’t mean, personal credibility to
oneself is obsolete?
We
know that we tell these little lies to others because we don’t want to hurt
their feelings. At least some of do, there are others who could care less
about you and whoever feelings. Their mantra is “Get over it”. Obviously,
they are not the touchy feely type of people.
Here is a thought. Let’s bring the resolution practice for the New Year up
to date. Let’s take a page from the way politicians, businesses and other
organizations look at reaching people they have targeted. We will repackage
the title of this practice. Instead of New Years resolutions, let’s call
it…let’s see. Why don’t we call it…?
Me, Myself, My Crew, and I… coming at you for 2006! Say
What…? Yes...that's right, we have the same resolutions for 06. You better ask Somebody!!!!
- “God grant me the
serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the
things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.” We happen to think
that is the most profound statement that guides our day. May it continue
to as a mantra for us all.
- May we continue to be
or become the best soul mate for our wife, husband, or lover.
- K-R Editor (CHII) to
lose weight by exercising and eating less sweets.
- K-R to continue to
pick up more readers as we publish articles that interest our base and
introduce ourselves to others.
- Learn to enjoy and
appreciate every day for what it is and not how it is defined by someone
else.
- Contribute time,
money, and effort to our young people who are in need.
- May we all strive for
and or continue to be the best parent we can regardless to the age of
our children.
- Practice patience with
others who seem impatient with us for whatever reason.
- Remember and practice
the mantra Quote of the Sixties which is printed as follows; “I do my
thing and you do your thing. I am not in this world to live up to your
expectations. And you are not in this world to live up to mine. You are
you and I am I, and if by chance we find each other. It’s beautiful.”
…Frederick S. Perfs
- And finally, as we
arrive home from a rough day out in public and seek solitude and
relaxation in the comfort of our home surrounded by love ones or even
our favorite pet, let us recall the words of our grandparents, parents,
pastor, counselor, teacher or someone in our life. The words that should
sum up any angry lingering feelings you have for the bad driver, snotty
clerk, bad manner co-worker, pushy supervisor, nosy neighbor, or who
ever created problems for you during the day. Remember and repeat these
simple words of wisdom…This days’ negative issues will pass, tomorrow
will be a better day because I will make it a better day.
May the candle of Peace, Faith, Love, and Hope burn in your favor for the
coming year,
